ME: What was your 1st show in Detroit?
SR: Wow. I can't rememeber the 1st show, but the D always reps hip hop strong.
ME: What was the 1st major purchase after signing to Def Jam in 1986?
SR: Land in the Bronx. Investments in real estate in New York...
ME: Who brought to Def jam that ultimately got you signed?
SR: Lyor Cohen. I am the very first artist that he signed.
ME: Who are a couple of the new generation artists that you rock with?
SR: Black Hippie Crew.
ME: Do you have any collabs that you have not yet done but would like to? Producers or artists?
SR: Producers: Timbaland/Swizz
Artist: Mary J Blige/Eminem
ME: How did you and Dj Kaos 1st connect?
SR: 20 years ago. I saw his skills and had to harvest it into my world.
ME: In 1986 did you think that 38 years later projects like “Hood Happy” would still be happening in your rap career?
SR: As a young man, your more into thinking about the immediate present not the future.
ME: Tell us a couple of your favorite artists.
SR: I am an eccletive music listener. Ska/DanceHall/Rock Steady...Movie soundtracks etc.
ME: Tell us a couple of your favorite producers.
SR: Myself... Love me some Missy Elliot! Pharrell Williams.
ME: What can people expect here in the D at your upcoming show with Doug E Fresh , Rakim , Kid n Play Aug 30th at the Aretha?
SR: Good Times/Good Vibes/Storytelling and Jewels...
