The Dementia & Alzheimer’s Association of St. Clair County will host its Caregiver Connections Expo and Annual Luncheon and Awards Ceremony on June 3, 2025. This event invites caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members for a special, enjoyable day dedicated to supporting and celebrating those who care for individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Designed as a fun "day off" for caregivers, the expo will provide invaluable resources, expert-led workshops, informational booths, and interactive breakout sessions offering enjoyable activities.
Both family caregivers and professionals in the caregiving field are encouraged to attend, and onsite compassionate care is available if caregivers wish to bring their loved ones along.

Joan Lunden, the former co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America, an award-winning journalist, bestselling author, and dedicated caregiver advocate, will serve as the keynote speaker. Lunden will share insights from her personal caregiving journey, offering inspiration and practical advice on maintaining balance, finding strength, and recognizing the meaningful aspects of caregiving.
Additionally, the event will include the Annual Luncheon and Awards Ceremony, which honors the legacy of Marcia Haynes, a committed caregiver and advocate. After her husband Fred was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2006, Marcia dedicated her life to supporting Alzheimer’s research and providing caregiver resources. The luncheon celebrates her contributions and recognizes outstanding local advocates and organizations committed to similar missions.
