We caught up him recently, here’s a bit of our discussion:

ME: Being from Metro Detroit who are some Detroit artists that inspired you to want to make music?
DSAV: Big Sean, Sada Baby and Tee Grizzley.

ME: You recently shot a video directed by Diego at Aretha Franklins former house. how was that experience?
DSAV: The house was a whole vibe itself and I had a good time shooting it, shot out everyone that helped with the vision.

ME: The song features Pretty Brayah, tell us about the track.
DSAV: The track came from personal experience I had with women and my response to it I made the hook and said it needs a female on here and thought of Brayah and the rest is history.

ME: You just rocked with the Creators of Hip Hip the Sugar Hill Gang and Furious 5 on January31st, how was that experience?
DSAV: it was dope af crowd was lit.

ME: Whats a Dream Collab for you?
DSAV: Friday, Saint Jhn, peso pluma, and Karol G.

ME: Who’s your favorite producer that is alive and would love to work with?
DSAV: Mustaaaaaard, Metro Booming , Dr Dre and Scott Storch.

ME: As an artist do you personally prefer the recording studio over the live stage or vice versa?
DSAV: I honestly can’t pick I love both the feeling I get when creating something new and hearing it for the first time and the energy and rush I get on stage our both a high I can’t get enough of.

ME: Being a Chaldean rapper do you feel there is any type of uphill battle or that it makes things any easier or does it matter?
DSAV: I am on optimist at its best I get people sayin this ain’t for you but we all know music is for everybody it doesn’t have a color it only has voice my culture or skin color don’t define my sound my day to day life do.

ME: What is one of the most memorable moments as being an artist thus far for you?
DSAV: I really can’t say I enjoy every bit of it the Spanish video I shot in Miami at Kiki was definitely one for the books.

ME: What is next for SAV?
DSAV: I’ll be taking the steps until I reach the stairs in other words releasing new music, performing, collaborating with some people in the industry and just pushing everyday until every ear has heard my voice.
