Dear Dr Sabrina,

I am reaching out as I really do not know what to do. I am a married man with 2 beautiful children. My Son is 12 and daughter is 6 yrs old. This past weekend we were at the park enjoying the amazing weather. I was shooting a couple of baskets while my children were playing on the swings, slides, etc. After playing, I went to sit in the car while my children continued to play.

Well, this took a turn quickly, my daughter was playing with a younger little girl and the little girl fell and hit her lip. The little girl was crying and bleeding. My children ran to the car and jumped in. My daughter was crying and "stated that the father had a knife and was going to his car to get his gun to kill the person who hurt his daughter". The children were yelling telling me to drive off. As I looked back I did see the man coming toward the car with a gun. I took off.

Now Doc, I returned back to the park looking for the father and I had my gun.

My question is how do I make sure my daughter feels that her daddy is not a punk and will protect her. Do I need to find the man as I do not know him however I can not sleep and I am so angry. My daughter did share with my wife that she does not want to die and she doesn't want her daddy to die.

Help Doc, Should I go find this dad?
