The John Evan Cash Foundation (JECF) is thrilled to announce the 4th annual "A Walk for M.E." - a 5K walk/run for Mental Health & Education, taking place on Saturday, October 7, 2023, starting at 9:30 a.m. This heartwarming event, held in memory of John Evan Cash, will convene at Kensington Metro Park, with the added opportunity for virtual participation across the country. Dr. Robin Cash, John Evan's mother, shares that "this event celebrates John Evan's passion for walking at Kensington Metro Park, savoring the crisp fall days with fresh apple donuts and cider, and enjoying the soul-stirring rhythms of live music."

#AWalkForME endeavors to further the John Evan Cash Foundation's vision of funding mental health support, advocacy, and education while promoting mental well-being through physical activity in these unprecedented times.

All proceeds from the event will be dedicated to supporting three deserving educational institutions and organizations: The endowed scholarship in Psychology at Old Dominion University (ODU) College of Sciences (www.odu.edu/sci), John Evan's Alma Mater.

Advocacy and mental health support with the Covenant House of Michigan, House of Hope (covenanthousemi.org), an empowering space for homeless youth, with a focus on providing support to those with mental health diagnoses. This year, JECF purchased fishing rods for young adults, pledged to provide winter boots and socks, and committed to an annual donation thereafter.
