Robbie Mullin is a woman of inspiring creativity, authentic compassion, and immense strength and courage. She impacts the lives of many through her roles as a beloved drama teacher and encouraging acting coach for her students, an innovative director and actress in her fine arts career, and a devoted wife, mother, and confidant to her family and friends.

After studying acting, teaching, and actively working in the high-demand theater and television industries of New York City and Los Angeles, she made the decision to move back to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in 2014 to raise her family with her husband, Peter. One of Robbie’s greatest sources of strength and joy are her husband and her two beautiful children, Emma and Jacob, while finding and creating meaningful opportunities within her local community to help guide children in acting and overall educational success.

Unfortunately, due to an extensive family history of breast cancer on Robbie’s maternal side, a spot was found on each of her breasts during an annual mammogram in April of 2024. Robbie has always been proactive about her health and began having routine mammograms when she was 35 years old. The detection of the spots was not a new thing for Robbie to experience. It was not usual for her to be called back for an additional ultrasound due to dense breast tissue. However, this time something felt different. It was not just one spot, but two, that raised concerns with her medical team. As a result, she was then brought back in for an additional biopsy. The results she received in May from the biopsy were that of Stage 1 DCIS in both breasts. It was also determined that her form of breast cancer was ninety-nine percent estrogen-based.

On July 11, 2024, Robbie made the courageous decision to have a double mastectomy. The mastectomy also thankfully revealed that the cancer had been caught quickly enough to not have had the chance to spread to her lymph nodes. However, Robbie would need to undergo three more intensive reconstruction surgeries and hormone therapy.

To say that the time that has passed has been rough is an understatement. The battles that Robbie has fought in these past few months physically, emotionally, and mentally have been brutal, but Robbie has prevailed with tremendous grace and a hopeful and positive attitude through this frightening and life- altering event. As Robbie continues to heal, grow, and persevere in her fight against cancer she prefers to say that she is a cancer thriver rather than a survivor. She firmly believes that cancer does not define a woman, but it is an experience to learn, thrive, and find the inner strength of who one truly is. Cancer changes you, but Robbie believes that it is a choice as to how you decide to walk through it. Her story is a testament to the power of embracing each day with courage and strength to face the battle of cancer head-on and thrive through the experience.
