In 2004, with 30 years of finance experience from Henderson Financial and National City Bank, Marilyn Horn joined Berg Muirhead & Associates public relations firm as a financial services contractor. After eight years supporting Berg Muirhead’s growth, she acquired the company and formed Van Dyke•Horn Public Relations, Michigan's only integrated public relations firm. Horn is president and CFO of Van Dyke•Horn. She leads all operations and finance for the 14-person team that provides public relations services to the company’s 30-plus clients, which range from global corporations to local charitable organizations.

Horn has created efficiency measurements with financial checks and balances that have helped the company to remain viable in financially difficult times.

Horn lends her time serving on committees for the Michigan Minority Supplier Diversity Council, the National Association of Women Business Owners - Detroit, Second Ebenezer Church and The Notary Society. She’s a graduate of the Blue Cross Blue Shield/AAA Project One Module. She is a former board member of The Transforming Church of Detroit and the Wesleyan Church.
