Women You Should Know #3: Kelly Kozlowski

Kelly Kozlowski is the Chief Operating Officer at TechTown Detroit and holds the role of Assistant Vice President of Economic Development at Wayne State University. In these dual capacities, she oversees strategy and operations, including the implementation, cultivation and maintenance of systems and processes for TechTown, the Wayne State Industry Innovation Center and future neighborhood workspaces -- all in support of the vision for equitable economic impact and access to opportunity.

With over 15 years of professional experience, Kozlowski has been a dedicated player in supporting equitable opportunity in and around Detroit, holding significant positions in notable organizations such as the Downtown Detroit Partnership and Automation Alley, showcasing her leadership skills and commitment.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Kozlowski actively engages with the community. She serves as the President of the Oakland University Sail Board and spent 13 years as a mentor for a prestigious FIRST robotics team in Michigan. Additionally, she shares her knowledge by teaching journalism courses at Oakland University.

Recognized for her achievements, Kozlowski was awarded the Adams Entrepreneurial Fellowship in 2009 and named one of Oakland County's Elite 40 Under 40 in 2013. She received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Oakland University in 2015 and was included in the 2021 DBusiness list of 30 in their Thirties. Additionally, she was part of the leadership team that earned Crain's Detroit Best Managed Nonprofit recognition for TechTown in 2021. Her commitment to community leadership is further exemplified by her participation as an alumna of Leadership Detroit (Class XL).
